| In June 2006, the Town of Fort Myers Beach joined forces with Keep Lee County Beautiful, Inc. and the Southwest Florida Marine Industries Association to turn the tide on trash at our local beaches. 30 shiny, new litter receptacles were placed at handy spots along the beach, making it more convenient for our thousands of visitors and residents to properly dispose of their drink containers, fast food sacks, pop tops, bottle caps, and a sundry of other misplaced solid waste. Colorful signs denote their purpose and urge beach goers to "Leave only their Footprints". |
